BankTrust First Light Marathon Partners with LifeSouth for a Kid's Marathon

The Five Points of Life and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers are excited to invite you to be a part of the inaugural Five Points of Life Kid's Marathon Mobile. It will be held January 8, 2012 in conjunction with the BankTrust First Light Marathon at the NW corner of Bienville Square (St. Francis and Conception Streets).

The Kid's Marathon originated in Gainesville, Florida in 2007 as a part of the Five Points of Life Race Weekend which is held annually in February. The first year had over 450 kids participate and continues to grow. The goal of the Kid's Marathon is to promote good health and physical fitness by giving kids the opportunity to run or walk an entire 26.2 miles, just like marathoners.

To participate, kids, K-8th grade, complete 25 miles, one at a time, during the months prior to the marathon, logging each mile on the log sheet. To finish the full marathon kids will run the last 1.2 miles on January 8, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at NW corner of Bienville Square (St. Francis and Conception Streets). All participants will receive a Kid's Marathon Mobile race packet, race number (must be worn on race day), t-shirt and finishers medal. Kids must register in order to participate.

Look for the "LifeSouth Kid's Marathon / 1.2 Mi Fun Run" options on our race application form or online if you are registering through Marathon Guide.
